Minister to become funeral director.

A St Austell minister is to become a funeral Director. The Rev’d David Michael who was ordained in 2003 and has held various posts in the St Austell area is joining V F Wedlake Funeral Directors as a funeral director and celebrant.

Nick Jago, of V F Wedlake Funeral Directors, says “These are difficult times for families David brings with him a vast level of compassion and experience. We are looking forward to being able to provide all the family’s needs within our funeral home.”

David comes from a family of funeral directors both his Uncle and Cousin had their own Funeral Homes in South Wales. David’s first paid role from a funeral director was with Reg Oliver in Millbrook at the tender age of 16. David occasionally would help Roderick Wedlake when he needed help before his retirement.

David says “This is an exciting time, as well as traditional funerals I want to help families shape celebrations of life in a unique and special way. Many funeral directors claim to offer a personal choice but this is not always true and people’s final wishes are being ignored. Nick Jago at V F Wedlake Funeral Directors brings a fresh view, prices are shown clearly, and the mortuary facilities are among some of the best in the sector. I am looking forward to being able to look after families from the very beginning of their grief journey to the end.”
